Daniel is a faculty member in the School of Public Health and the Institute for Social Research. He directs the Healthy Minds Network for Research on Adolescent and Young Adult Mental Health.
In the Athletes Connected project, he is the faculty Principal Investigator leading the scientific evaluation of the program’s effectiveness.
Research Study Coordinator, Healthy Minds Network
Sonia is a junior at the University of Michigan pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Information focusing in user experience design and information analytics. She coordinates research and programming for the Healthy Minds Network for Research on Adolescent and Young Adult Mental Health.
In the Athletes Connected project, Sonia manages the Institutional Review Board applications for the research components of the project and assisted in film recruiting and scheduling for the Athletes Connected documentaries.
Research Assistant; Former UM Student-Athlete
Adam is a study coordinator for the Healthy Minds Network and helps administer the Healthy Minds Study. He is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan earning a Bachelor’s in psychology with honors, and aims to eventually expand his research and clinical knowledge in a grad program.
For the Athletes Connected initiative, Adam helps with the research and data analysis of student-athlete mental health and program effectiveness.
U-M Depression Center
Trish Meyer, Ed.M.
Manager for Outreach and Education, University of Michigan Depression Center
Trish oversees the Depression Center’s many educational initiatives, including theCampus Mind Works website and outreach program for U-M students, and the annualDepression on College Campuses Conference.
Trish contributes to the overall development, administration, and implementation of the Athletes Connected initiative, and oversees programmatic elements related to the student support groups.
Program Coordinator for Outreach and Education, University of Michigan Depression Center
Stephanie helps to plan and implement several of the Depression Center’s outreach initiatives, including the Campus Mind Works website and outreach program for U-M students, and the Peer-to-Peer Depression Awareness Project, a peer-based mental health program for high school students.
As part of the Athletes Connected initiative, Stephanie assists in the coordination of focus groups, informational presentations, and student support groups, and aids in program evaluation.
Program Coordinator for Athletes Connected
Will helps student-athletes adjust to and cope with the stressors of being a high-profile individual in a high-pressure environment. He encourages and promotes holistic wellness for the student-athletes in order to increase performance on and off the playing field.
Will helps with design, implementation, and presentation of the Athletes Connected project.
Web Designer, University of Michigan Depression Center
Nehal helps develop and maintain several Depression Center websites, including Campus Mind Works. She also manages email marketing efforts for Depression Center outreach initiatives.
Her involvement with the Athletes Connected project inlcudes website management and email marketing.
Athletics Counselor, University of Michigan Athletic Department
Barb provides mental health assessment, counseling, and support services to student athletes at the U of M. She also works with teams and coaches to promote health and wellness among student athletes.
Her involvement with the Athletes Connected project includes contributing to the overall development and implementation of the Athletes Connected project. She coordinates scheduling of the various project meetings and groups for student athletes and coaches.
University of Michigan School of Social Work Graduate Student Intern
Emily is currently working towards her master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Michigan. She is currently an intern in the Athletic Department at the University of Michigan with Barb Hansen. She hopes to eventually work in with Student Athlete in a counseling capacity.
Within this project, she is assisting in facilitating the Athlete’s Connected group discussions, encouraging athletes to come together and share experiences.
Director / Producer
Will Del Rosario is a Director/Producer with over a decade of experience working in film and commercial production. Along with notable film projects, Will has been directing brand films for the Healthy Minds Network and other organizations.
Through the Athletes Connected Project, Will directed and produced both of the student-athlete films.
Former University of Michigan Swimmer (’09-’13)
Kally currently lives and works in Chicago. She is an account manager working in business development for an advertising agency, Leo Burnett.
Kally is one of the student athletes shown in the Athletes Connected documentaries. Through these documentaries, as well as speaking with student athletes and coaches, she hopes to shine a light on the stigmas around mental illness by breaking down the barriers to help seeking.
Clinical Social Worker/Psychotherapist
Adrienne maintains a private practice in Ann Arbor, MI with a special focus on working with college students. Her areas of interest/expertise include: performance anxiety, career and identity development and relationship concerns.
As part of the Athletes Connected initiative, Adrienne is the group facilitator for the support/wellness groups for the student athletes.
Creative Director, Healthy Minds Network
Blake Wagner III is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University with a BA in Psychology.
Blake was the producer and co-writer for the Athletes Connected documentaries in this project.
